De lo Fantástico y lo Inadmisible

Throughout its seven thematic chapters (cinema, television, video games, illustration, literature, history and education), and with the help of a wide group of authors, the book De lo Fantástico y lo Inadmisible Fantastic and Inadmissible) delves into the various forms of expression and interconnection of the fantastic with contemporary audiovisual art. From the most recognizable classics of literature and cinematography (Shelley, Lovecraft, Pratchett, etc.), to the most peripheral novelties of the video game or virtual reality (Graphic Adventures, Survival Horror, etc.), its route adds up, among many other topics, the Japanese traces of the ghosts Yōkai and the monsters Kaijū Eiga (Godzilla, Gojira); the cinematographic fables of the Italian Giallo; the feminist and queer stamp of the postmodern witchcraft (The Craft, The Spell); or the “superheroic” tribulations that land from the comic book to our screens (Daredevil, The Punisher, etc.).
