In a Stranger Field

Studies of Art, Audiovisuals and New Technologies in Fantasy, Scifi and Horror Genres

The book In a Stranger Field. Studies of Art, Audiovisuals and New Technologies in Fantasy, SciFi and Horror Genres brings together the research of a wide range of authors from different areas of knowledge in the three thematic blocks that make up the book (studies of fantasy, science fiction and the horror genre) under one common element: the interconnection between fantasy and audiovisual art. With this purpose, the book delves into a diversity of topics such as the intertextuality between Ray Harryhausen’s works and the video game (Ghost’nGoblins, Final Fantasy, God of War, etc.); the adaptations in series format of superheroic characters (Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, etc.); the ethics around biotranshumanism in literature and cinema; or the educational drift of the Japanese comic book (The new Treasure Island, Dragon Ball, Pokémon, etc.), among others.
